Summer Bike to Work Day 2026

Summer Bike to Work Day in Old Town Square

Thank you to the more than 6,000 participants and 186 businesses who came together to make Summer Bike to Work Day a celebration of sustainable transportation.

The next Summer Bike to Work Day will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2027.

Fort Collins celebrates bicycling year-round, and Bike to Work Day is our biggest community ride. It’s a chance to swap your car trip for a bike ride, grab breakfast on the way and connect with others who share the road and trails. Whether you ride every day or once a year, it’s an easy, fun way to be part of the city’s active transportation culture.

What to Expect

Free breakfast: Stop at any station for complimentary food and drinks while supplies last. Each station offers its own menu and setup.

Friendly vibes: Expect smiles, waves and plenty of camaraderie on Fort Collins’ busy trails and bikeways.

Follow the rules: Ride safely and courteously.

  • Obey all traffic laws and posted dismount zones.
  • Use an audible signal and pass on the left.
  • Slow down — trail courtesy speed is 15 miles per hour.
  • Signal turns and stops.
  • Visit the Bike Education page for more tips and resources.

All riders welcome: Bike to Work Day is for everyone — from first-time riders to daily commuters. Be patient, ask questions and help each other out.

Plan for the weather: Bring water, sunscreen and dress in layers (or cold-weather gear for Winter Bike to Work Day).

Ride anywhere: Participation isn’t limited to commuters — any destination counts!

Be counted: Take the quick survey at each station to help us track participation and improve future events.

Get tuned: Some stations feature local bike mechanics for quick safety checks.
