Check Your Summons!

Is your jury duty summons from the City of Fort Collins Municipal Court? If so, please keep reading. If it's from the 8th Judicial District or Larimer County, go to the Colorado Judicial Branch website for more information.

Jury Service Information

The jury system is an important part of the court process. If you have never served on a jury before, court staff will help you through the process when you arrive. Trials usually last one day and sometimes go past 5 p.m.

If you received a juror summons and will appear as ordered, please detach, sign and return the bottom portion of the summons. This shows that you are appearing on the date and time of the jury trial. Please email the Court at court@fortcollins.gov to confirm that the case is still scheduled. Updated jury trial status information will also be posted on this page.

If you need to request a disqualification or postponement, fill out the appropriate section of your Juror Qualification paperwork and return it to the court as quickly as possible. You will need to provide written proof of the reason for your request.

On the day of the trial, please check in at 8 a.m. when the building opens. Please do not arrive before 8 a.m. Bring your completed jury questionnaire with you. If you lose your questionnaire, you can obtain a new one. The clerks will direct you to a waiting room until the trial begins. The Judge will swear in those chosen for jury service and guide you throughout the process. The Court Administrator or Deputy Court Administrator will be available to answer any general questions.

Upcoming Jury Trials

As of today's date, the jury trials scheduled for Jan. 16, Jan. 23 and Jan. 30, 2026 will be convened as scheduled.

Court Rules and Security Information

Everyone entering the Fort Collins Municipal Court for a hearing of any kind will need to enter through the north door that faces Maple Street and go through security screening. You must turn off all electronic equipment (e.g., cell phones, pagers, tablets, e-readers, etc.) before entering the courtroom and keep them off unless the judge allows it. Attorneys scheduled for hearings may use laptops. The judge must approve cameras or recording devices before you can use them.

Parking Information

There is limited parking near Municipal Court, 215 N. Mason St., and most of it is restricted to 2-hour parking only. The small parking lot on the north side of the building is also restricted to 2-hour parking. Do not park in these 2-hour spaces because your jury service will last longer than two hours.

Parking is available for $1 per hour at the Civic Center Parking Structure on the southeast corner of Mason Street and Laporte Avenue. You must prepay when you park your vehicle either at the walk-up pay station or via the FC Parking App.

Please contact the Court for information about accessible parking.
