Pay Your Parking Ticket
This page is specific to City of Fort Collins parking tickets left on windshields.
Does your citation require an appearance at 215 N. Mason St.? Pay Municipal Court.
If you received a parking ticket, you may pay your ticket using one of the following methods:
- Online: Pay online here
- By phone: Call 970-221-6617
- In person: Visit 144 N. Mason St., Suite 5, Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (excluding holidays)
- Mail slot: Place check or money order (no cash) in the provided envelope and slip it through our front door's mail slot at 144 N. Mason St., Suite 5
- By mail: Send a check payable to the City of Fort Collins to City of Fort Collins Parking Services, P.O. Box 580, Fort Collins, CO 80522 (no cash allowed in mailed payments)
Paying a ticket is considered an admission of guilt according to 1209(5)(a) of the Fort Collins Traffic Code.

If Your Ticket Isn't Paid on Time
Fine Increases
Parking ticket fines escalate if not paid or contested within 20 calendar days from the issue date. A notice of unpaid parking fines will be sent to the vehicle’s registered owner.
After 20 days from the ticket issue date, fines increase as follows:
- $10 fine → $20
- $25 fine → $50
- $35 fine → $50
- $50 fine → $75
- $75 fine → $100
- $100 fine → $150
Unpaid tickets may lead to vehicle immobilization or referral to a collection agency.
Contesting a Ticket
To contest a ticket contact Parking Services within 20 calendar days of ticket issue date. To contest a parking ticket in Fort Collins, you can file a "Motion for Trial" with the Municipal Court.
Vehicle Immobilization
If fines are not paid or contested within 20 calendar days, vehicles with unpaid citations may be immobilized using a wheel lock/boot or barnacle device. A mailed notice will be sent prior to immobilization. Once immobilized, all outstanding fines and an $85 immobilization fee must be paid in full for release.
If the vehicle remains immobilized for more than 72 hours, it may be impounded at the owner's expense. The City is not liable for loss or damage to immobilized vehicles or their contents. Tampering with, defacing, opening, damaging, removing or moving an immobilization device before official release is a misdemeanor offense under Fort Collins Traffic Code Sections 1801(4), 1801(7) and 1801(8).
The types of immobilization devices we use include:
Wheel Lock (Boot)
Applied when tickets remain unpaid after notification. Call Parking Services (970-221-6617) Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (excluding holidays) to arrange payment and removal.
Barnacle
Self-Release Option available after business hours, weekends and holidays.
To release the device, scan the QR code on the device or call:
- Parking Services: From Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.4:30 p.m. at 970-221-6617
- Barnacle Support: At all other times at 917-470-9225 (available 24/7)
Pay the outstanding balance directly through Barnacle Enforcement Solutions.
Return the device to the drop box at 215 N. Mason St. parking lot within 24 hours to avoid additional charges.
