The City of Fort Collins provides public records to residents. Request records are available online, by email, or in person with transparent pricing and multiple format options available.

How to Request Records

Submit a written request in person, by email or through our Public Records Portal.

Costs

Under C.R.S. § 24-72-205(6) the City is authorized to charge a fee of $41.37 per hour for all time spent in excess of one (1) hour for: (a) research and retrieval of requested records; (b) conducting searches for requested records; (c) inspecting records to segregate those that are not responsive, those that are not public records and those that are confidential and/or privileged; and (d) the production and/or copying of voluminous records.

Copy charges:

  • Up to 11x14: $0.25 per copy
  • 11x17: $0.50 per copy
  • Oversized sheets: Set by department, not more than actual cost
  • USB Flash drives: $15.00 per drive
  • Electronic delivery: No charge
