Block Parties

A side view of the City's Block Party Trailer

Block parties can be a fun way to meet neighbors, build community and enjoy food, music and games on your street. This page has everything you need to plan your event — including how to apply for a street closure and how to reserve the free Block Party Trailer, which comes stocked with tables, chairs, games and other supplies.

How to Host a Block Party

Neighborhoods can organize block parties any time of year. A Special Event Permit is required, and you must get written permission from the property owner if the event is on private property.

Neighborhood grants are available year-round to help fund block parties. The Neighborhood Services team can also assist with planning, logistics, activities and tips for engaging your neighbors. Contact us to get support!
