Business Construction Grants

The City of Fort Collins Economic Health Office offers financial help to small businesses directly affected by City-funded Capital Improvement Projects in 2025. These payments help businesses reduce the negative effects of capital construction projects.

Eligibility and Grant Amounts

Two major projects in 2025 will affect operations for many small businesses within City limits: the College Avenue and Trilby Road Intersection Improvement Project and the Power Trail and Harmony Road Grade-Separated Crossing Project. These project areas have grant money available to small businesses with 50 employees or fewer.

Grant amounts are based on construction duration:

  • $2,500 grants for businesses located in or near construction lasting longer than 45 days
  • $5,000 grants for businesses in project areas lasting longer than 120 days

The Economic Health Office will give one-time payments to businesses in construction areas. You must show how you spent the money to reduce construction problems. Marketing support, cleaning and staff retention are examples of qualified spending and should be detailed on the application. Due to limited funds, the City will award grants based on eligibility on a first-come, first-served basis.
