FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Fort Collins will celebrate its 38th annual Summer Bike to Work Day on Wednesday, June 24, with morning stations hosted by local businesses and organizations from 6:30-9:30 a.m. and afternoon stations from 4-6 p.m. 

Held each June during Colorado Bike Month, Bike to Work Day invites community members to swap a car trip for a bike ride — whether commuting to work, running errands or just enjoying the ride. The event is known for its community spirit, with free breakfast and snack stations placed along bike routes around town and widespread support for Fort Collins' nationally recognized bike-friendly culture. 

"Bike to Work Day is a chance for our community to come together and experience the fun and freedom of getting around by bike," City of Fort Collins Active Modes Specialist AnnMarie Kirkpatrick said. "It's a welcoming event for riders of all ages and experience levels, and a great way to connect with neighbors while promoting sustainable transportation." 

What to Expect 

Participants can expect: 

  • Free breakfast and snacks at stations across town, available while supplies last. Each station offers something different. 
  • Camaraderie along the city's trail and bikeway system, with waves, high-fives and conversations from fellow riders. 
  • Bike repair support, with several stations offering free safety checks and minor adjustments from local bike mechanics. 
  • A welcome for all riders, from first-time riders to daily commuters. No experience is necessary. 
  • Safety reminders to follow local biking laws and etiquette, including yielding to pedestrians, signaling turns and observing the 15 mile per hour trail courtesy speed limit.
