Suspect Arrested for First Degree Murder

On Sunday, December 21, 2025, at approximately 7:57 p.m., Fort Collins Police Services (FCPS) was dispatched to the 2000 block of Battlecreek Drive on reports of a shooting that had just occurred.   

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found that one male victim had been shot resulting in serious injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. 

Police determined a male on scene, Brody Jason-Michael Hill (DOB 01/24/2004), as the suspect and he was safely taken into custody. Hill was booked at the Larimer County Jail on the following charges:

• Class 1 Felony – Murder in the First Degree (1 count)
• Class 5 Felony – Unlawful Conduct Involving an Unserialized Firearm, Frame, or Receiver (3 counts)
• Class 1 Misdemeanor – Large Capacity Magazines Prohibited (1 count)

“This is a tragic loss of life, and our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones during this difficult time,” said Assistant Chief Frank Barrett, who oversees the Criminal Investigations Division, “Through the coordinated efforts of our responding officers and investigators, we were able to quickly identify and apprehend a suspect. This incident appears to involve these two individuals, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.”

The identity of the victim will be released by the Larimer County Coroner’s Office pending next of kin notification. No other information is available as the matter is still an active investigation. 

Charges are merely an accusation by law enforcement, and all suspects must be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
