Online Payment Fees:
If you pay by ECheck, make sure you have the correct account and routing number. If incorrect, you will be charged additional fees. Refer to the Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) for their fees.
The City provides fee intentions to give transparency and guidance to the industry. Fees are subject to change. The City uses the Colorado Price Index (CPI) rate to account for inflation. For fees to be effective Jan. 1, the September CPI Projection Update allows enough time for internal processes and City Manager review and approval. Note: In 2025 and 2026, the City will increase all fees. The City Manager approved projection fees for 2025 and 2026. A 2.5% CPI rate was used. Application fees are non-refundable. If you do not get a local license, you may request a refund of the license fee. Email a completed refund marijuana request form to the Clerk's Office Marijuana Team.
License application fees are set by State statute and collected by the State. For facilities not currently licensed for retail marijuana in Fort Collins: The State (MED) Licensing Authority will collect fees under Article 10. See Marijuana Enforcement Division Fee Schedule. You will need a separate check at the MED. The MED will send the local licensing authority (City of Fort Collins) the Retail Application Fees with the application. Refer to the state website.
