The City provides Building Design and Construction Standards to guide architects and engineers in preparing designs and contract documents for construction projects at City-owned facilities. These standards include minimum requirements for materials and equipment.
Operations Services' Building Design and Construction Standards help Architects & Engineers (A&E) prepare designs and contract documents for projects administered by the department. A&Es should conform to the standards as applicable to the specific project. This manual includes minimum criteria for specific materials and equipment.
This document was revised October 2013. If you require the previous version to complete a project that is already in progress, please contact your Project Manager so they can provide a copy. Please also contact your Project Manager to request this document in a different format.
