Fertilizer Application in Parks — March 23–27, 2026
Fertilizer will be applied throughout most of Fort Collins' parks from Monday, March 23 through Friday, March 27. The product used is a 180-day slow-release nitrogen fertilizer, allowing the City to apply it just once a year to nourish turf throughout the growing season. Residents may also notice small piles of foam in park areas — these are simply application markers made from the same ingredients found in liquid dish soap. The fertilizer is safe for people and pets and poses no harm if walked on.

Parks are an essential part of the Fort Collins lifestyle. Our city includes more than 966 acres of developed parks, all with their unique flair and features, connected by more than 45 miles of paved trails throughout the city. Parks provide the Fort Collins community with clean, safe and innovative environments to enjoy all their favorite outdoor activities, from playground adventures to recreational sports to family fun outings.
