Performance Code Path to Zero Carbon New Construction

Fort Collins homes built to the zero energy home standard
What is the Zero Carbon Construction Code?

Fort Collins is working toward zero carbon emissions from all new buildings by 2030. The Path to Zero Carbon New Construction adapts the building energy code, putting us on a trajectory to more comfortable, healthy, climate resilient new homes and buildings that lower energy costs and have zero carbon emissions.

How Will It Work?

New building codes will be updated every 3 years to reduce energy use and cut carbon emissions—moving step by step toward the 2030 code year goal. Learn more or engage with staff
