2. Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) Decisions

The Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) advises City Council on landmark designations, reviews proposed exterior changes to historic properties, and considers development projects that could affect historic resources.

You can view recent or upcoming HPC items below, as well as current and past meeting agendas and minutes.

How to share your input:

  • Speak in person at the scheduled hearing, or
  • Submit written comments by emailing preservation@fortcollins.gov or dropping them off at 281 N. College Ave. by 5:30 p.m. on the Monday before the hearing (48 hours in advance). Comments received later will be added to the record.

3. Historic Surveys (Determinations of Landmark Eligibility)

Historic resource surveys identify and document places that are important to Fort Collins’ history. Using research, photos and maps, surveyors evaluate each property’s age, architecture, and connections to significant people, events or cultural trends. The results help determine whether a property may qualify for historic designation at the local, state or national level.

5. Demolition Notifications

Single-Unit Dwelling Demolition Notification (SUDDN process) applies to single-unit residences that are at least 50 years old and proposed for demolition and replacement with a new single-unit dwellingThis process ensures potentially important historic or cultural properties are not lost without review, as required by Section 14-6 and Chapter 14, Article III of Municipal Code.
