In 2021, City Council created the Immigration Legal Fund pilot program. The City uses this money to fund legal services for residents' immigration issues. This includes help with citizenship, permanent residency, legal representation, education, outreach and legal clinics.
You must be a Fort Collins resident to get help from this program.

The program also pays for administration, education and outreach.
* This refers to minors in the United States who need juvenile court protection because a parent abused, abandoned or neglected them. If they get Special Immigrant Juvenile Status classification, these minors may qualify for lawful permanent residency (getting a Green Card).
City officials and City Council believe this program helps individual residents and the whole community. Immigration legal services help individuals and families stay positive contributors to Fort Collins and participate fully in the community.
This program also strengthens Fort Collins' community and culture. It brings significant economic benefits, including workforce development.
This program fills a gap in private sector services.
