Project Summary

The City of Fort Collins is installing separated bike lanes on Shields Street between Mountain Avenue and Mulberry Street.

What’s Changing

The project will:

• Remove one northbound vehicular travel lane on Shields Street
• Fill a gap in the City's bicycle network
• Provide a buffer between the sidewalk and vehicular traffic
• Improve access to City Park, CSU Early Childhood Center and Dunn Elementary

Project Impacts

Expect lane shifts in the project area July 6-19, followed by a full closure of Shields from Mountain to Mulberry from July 20-31 related to utility work.

During the full closure residents north of Olive will be able to access their homes from Oak; residents south of Olive will be able to access their homes from Magnolia. See Construction and Traffic Impacts during construction.
