FAQ's or Other Information

Trash Removal

Trash haulers will pick up trash and recycle bins along alleys that are open and at the end of each closure area. Residents will need to bring their bins down to the end of the closure areas for trucks to be able to access their bins for pick up. Bins will need to be labeled with the street address. Residents please affix a label to each bin and don't directly write on the bins. If there are residents that require assistance in moving their bins to the end of the closure area each week, please reach out to us and we will help.

Snow Removal

As we enter into the winter months, homeowners please note that even with the construction project in your area, you are still responsible to shovel snow from your front sidewalks. If you are finding that there are areas that are not shoveled, you're welcome to reach out to the Project Manager to help address any code compliance issues. Please note City Code Section 20-120 requires removal of more than 2” of snow and any amount of ice from sidewalks. City Code Section 1-2 defines “sidewalk” as “any portion of a street between the curbline and the adjacent property line excluding parkways which is intended for the use of pedestrians.”

Snow Plowing

There have been requests to have the alleys plowed for snow during the construction project in the area. Unfortunately, the City does not plow alleys for these reasons:
• Risk of property damage: Most alleys are very narrow, and plows could push snow against garages or outbuildings and or fences.
• Blocked access: Windrows created by plowing could block access into or out of garages.
• Obstacles in alleys: Many alleys contain Comcast or Xcel pedestals and other utilities that are at high risk of being damaged from plows.
