Fossil Creek Park

Temporary Closure

The parking lot on the east side of the park will be repaved starting Tuesday, April 28. Work is anticipated to be complete by Thursday, April 30. During this time, visitors arriving by vehicle should plan to park on the west side of the park, entering from Fossil Creek Parkway.

Designed as an escape from the urban environment, Fossil Creek Park wraps around the Portner Reservoir in southeast Fort Collins, with a quaint walking path around the lake and various recreation features from sports fields to tennis courts. The park is also a kid's paradise with its Tar Pits Play Area, giant Mammoth feature and interactive splash pad. Pickleball can be played on the hockey court, but players must bring their own nets.

Splash Pad

Enjoy a waterfall and dancing waterspouts on the lake’s edge, against the beautiful backdrop of the front range.

9 a.m.-7 p.m. 
Seven days a week 

Water features are open and free to the public throughout the summer season, typically from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Hours of operation may vary depending on weather conditions or mechanical issues.

All City parks are open daily from 5 a.m.-11 p.m.

Parking

There are two parking lots: one on the northwest side off Fossil Creek Parkway and the other next to the dog park off South Lemay Avenue.
