On July 30, 2026, at approximately 2:07 pm, Fort Collins 911 was notified of a serious crash at the intersection of South College Avenue and East Harvard Street. The collision was between a 2016 Toyota Rav4 and a 1999 Harley Davidson motorcycle. The motorcycle was being ridden by an adult male who sustained serious injuries. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Due to the severity of the collision, the Fort Collins Police CRASH (Collision Reconstruction and Scene Handling) Team responded to take over the investigation.

The investigation to this point has revealed that the Rav4 was travelling southbound on South College Avenue and initiated a left-hand-turn to go eastbound on East Harvard Street. The motorcycle was travelling northbound on South College Avenue and collided with the Rav4 in the intersection. Police are working to determine who had the right-of-way and if speed was a factor. The roadway was closed for approximately 5 hours while investigators processed the scene.

“Our investigators are working to determine what exactly led up to this crash. These investigations take time, but it is our commitment to find all the answers that we can for those involved,” said Sergeant David Lindsay who oversees the Fort Collins Police CRASH Team.

Anyone with information who has not already spoken to police is asked to call Officer Scott Maher at (970) 221 6540.
