Police Investigate Fatal Crash at College/Lorien

 On May 24th, 2026 at approximately 2:44pm, Fort Collins Police were notified of a serious crash between a motorcycle and a vehicle at the intersection of Lorien Lane and South College Avenue. The collision involved a 1996 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a 2005 Nissan Sentra. The motorcycle rider, an adult male was ejected from the motorcycle and was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, the motorcyclist was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.There were three adult males in the Nissan, none of them sustained injuries.

Due to the severity of the collision, the Fort Collins Police CRASH (Collision Reconstruction and Scene Handling) Team responded to take over the investigation. The investigation to this point has revealed that the Harley-Davidson was travelling northbound on College Avenue, and the Nissan was exiting the apartment complex on Lorien Lane and began to go northbound. Police are investigating if a turn violation contributed to the collision.

“This is a tragic case, and our investigators will do everything they can to help find answers and bring closure to all of those involved,” said Lieutenant Kevin Cronin who oversees the Fort Collins Police CRASH Team. The investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
