The Fort Collins Municipal Court maintains security protocols to ensure the safety and comfort of everyone attending proceedings. All people entering court buildings must follow screening rules and item restrictions.

Security Screening

People entering Fort Collins Municipal Court for hearings must go through a security screening process. The hearing entrance for Municipal Court is through the north door facing Maple Street.

Staff will search all backpacks, purses, briefcases, packages and other containers that you carry into Court-controlled areas. Large personal items like oversized bags, bedrolls, or bulky containers cannot be brought into court areas. Visitors should make prior arrangements to store these items elsewhere. The City of Fort Collins is not responsible for any lost or missing items.

The Court is committed to ensuring that all community members, including those experiencing housing insecurity, have safe and equitable access to court proceedings. If you have questions about storage, accessibility, or accommodations, please contact Municipal Court.
