Biography
Chris Conway grew up in Fort Collins and has spent most of his life connected to the people, trails and natural spaces that make this community special. As a kid, he swam in Long’s Pond, explored the Poudre River, and learned from parents who founded Trees, Water and People, an environmental nonprofit dedicated to protecting forests and strengthening communities. Those early experiences shaped his lifelong commitment to environmental stewardship.
Chris has been an English teacher since 2017, helping students become stronger thinkers and writers. His work in the classroom gives him a close understanding of the challenges local families face, especially the cost of housing.
Outside of teaching, Chris has been a leader in local housing and sustainability efforts. He helped found YIMBY Fort Collins to advocate for more diverse and affordable homes, serves on the board of Habitat for Humanity, and has supported initiatives that promote walkability, biking and climate-friendly growth. He can often be found riding his bike around town, talking with neighbors and exploring the places he grew up loving.
Elected in November 2025, Chris is proud to serve the city that raised him and is committed to helping Fort Collins remain a welcoming, livable and environmentally resilient community for generations to come.
