Community Exhibition: Through the Lens: Life Beyond Young Adult Cancer

Image of five pieces from the exhibition Through the Lens: Life Beyond Young Adult Cancer

Reception: Saturday, April 11, 3–5 p.m.

"Through the Lens: Life Beyond Cancer,” features the artwork of 16 young adult cancer survivors from across the country. Each artist tells their personal story revealing lived experiences of identity, loss, grief, struggles, hope, and transformation–perspectives that are often unseen in traditional cancer narratives. Through photographs, stories, paintings, and poetry these survivors invite viewers to witness the raw edges and luminous moments that define life after cancer for young adults. Through their art they advocate for equitable cancer care for young adults.

The project is generously funded by Cambia Health Foundation and curated by members of The Serious Illness and End-of-Life Narratives Lab at Colorado State University and Through the Lens Young Adult Advisory Board, a group of eight young adults guiding the vision for this exhibit.

This exhibition is presented and produced by the listed artist(s)—not the C4C or the City of Fort Collins.
