Trails

In Fort Collins, trails are our way of life. Whether you’re riding the paved bike paths on your daily commute or going for a leisure walk through one of our natural areas, trails provide something for everyone. There are two types of trails managed by the City of Fort Collins: paved trails and unpaved (dirt, gravel, etc.) trails.

Paved Trails

Fort Collins' paved trails can take you from one end of Fort Collins to the other, along winding creeks and down urban thoroughfares.

Natural Surface Trails

Fort Collins has over 114 miles of unpaved trail for activities such as walking, running, biking or equestrian use.

Trail Maps & Conditions

COTREX is an app that features helpful trail maps and up-to-date information about closures and statuses. The app is NOT managed by the City of Fort Collins, although our employees do contribute information about trail conditions and changes. COTREX is a collaborative project by the Colorado Department of Natural Resources and Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
